School Program Details
Research has indicated that girls as young as eight years old struggle with plummeting self-confidence (The Confidence Code, 2018). At Girls Thrive, we believe this doesn’t have to be every girl’s story.
In January 2024, Girls Thrive started an Elementary School Pilot Program for 4th and 5th grade girls at three Helena Title I Schools to combat this unfortunate statistic. The program has continued to be successful and will have two simultaneous programs at Bryant and Broadwater Elementary Schools for the 2025-2026 School Year!
The School Program is a condensed Girls Thrive Community Program, but participants stay on site at school for physical activities, games, and pertinent educational lessons, such as: teamwork, goal setting, nutrition, relationships, boundaries, and more. Hosting practices at schools eliminates the transportation barrier that many working parents/guardians face.
Practices take place once per week at each school for 1.5 hours and program capacity for each program is 20 participants. As always, scholarships and gear are provided to any girls in need. For the school year, the program costs $60 to help offset costs for healthy snacks, space rentals, and staff.
Girls Thrive operates independently of the Helena Public Schools (HPS) and pays fees to rent school spaces. Thank you to HPS for allowing us to facilitate our programs at your schools!
